I love stories about mates, the couple that is meant to be and will love each other until the end of time no matter what. A love that deep and true is magical and special and I am a sucker for that type of thing. One thing that was very prevalent in the Significance series was the love that Maggie and Caleb have for each other. It was such a cute relationship but they had their problems and they faced everything together. Not just them but all the couples in the series. Not only was this series about romance but their was a lot of action and human problems as well. Independence is the fourth and final book in the Caleb and Maggie story and it did not disappoint. All throughout the series everything has been coming to a point and this is it. The Watsons aren't finished yet, they were punished because of their bad morals but they haven't learned their lesson and come back for revenge and just like before there are going to be problems, fights and plotting. All the while Maggie's old human life and her Ace life are about to crash. People from Maggie's past come to make things more difficult than they already were and the Aces need their Visionary because they still need guidance to do things a different way.
Independence really was a perfect ending to the story. I only had a couple of complaints, one was that one character started to pick up traits of another character and I didn't like that and I wish the final book would have been longer, however it did end great so I guess I can't complain. I was so invested in this series and the story that I would not have just settled for anything.
I will miss Caleb and Maggie so much and I am not lying when I say that I am getting teary-eyed just writing this review. I love the characters so much and I would have love to have more books that followed Maggie and Caleb. But I don't think I will be to broken-hearted because the Significance series continues with another group of people who my favorite characters know, I can't wait to read Undeniably Chosen and it's gonna be good.

Independence A Significance Series Novel The Significance Series Volume 4 Shelly Crane 9781480207219 Books Reviews
I loved how this series was about two people finding each other and finding out who they are and what their destiny is within the world they live in. Independence was a perfect finale to Maggie and Caleb's journey.
One thing I loved about this book was having Caleb's POV! I admit it was jarring at first, but once I got used to his voice I loved seeing this world through his perspective. Caleb is a natural leader and he stepped up and took his place as leader of his family and his people.
Maggie and Caleb are home from reunification and planning their wedding, but an old enemy is not willing to let them live in peace. Marcus has on thing on his mind and that is revenge. He will stop at nothing at destroying Maggie by hurting the people she loves most in this world.
Maggie and Caleb are forced to take matters into their own hands as they fight to find a way to stop a mad man hell bent on destroying everything. Maggie and Caleb will learn that a sacrifice will need to be made and life must be taken in order to change destiny.
First off, I really enjoy Shelly Crane's books for a couple of reasons; she does not write detailed sex, her characters are fully fleshed out, the relationships between her characters are real and enjoyable, and she creates real problems not fake I'm hiding secrets from you problems. That being said, this is my favorite series by Shelly, although her Stealing Grace duo takes a close second.
**Contains Spoilers**
This book is the conclusion of Maggie and Caleb's story. As we have enjoyed the series, we have brought in Bish, Jen, Kyle, Lynne, and Fiona. I loved all of these characters. I will admit that while I loved the first person POV in the first 3 books in this one I wished that I could have walked with the other significants for a little while also. This book encompasses the wedding, starting college, defeating Marcus, and Maggie trying to figure out how to balance the human world with the Ace one. I thought it was very well done, but a little anti-climactic. For those that love Maggie and Caleb, it was so wonderful to get to enjoy their happy ending for a little while with them. I have to add that I thought Maggie was right to forgive Beck for being horrible but I think it was time to end that friendship; a true friend doesn't walk away being totally self-centered and then apologize and start doing the same thing all over again / ugh!
The book needed a little more editing, so if the occasional missed word, wrong word, etc bothers you, you might want to pass on this one.
I thought the book was beautiful and wonderful and I am so sad to see the Jacobsons go. I would love to see more books set in the Ace world *wink, wink* Ms. Crane )
Overall If you love a good romance without detailed sex, please please start this series and enjoy Shelly Crane's other books. This series will make you smile, laugh, cry, and rant. Ultimately, it will give you that warm fuzzy feeling that all good romances do and it will leave you smiling at the end of the day. Why didn't I give it 5 stars? The book needed more editing. Other than that, I loved it! Would I buy it again? Absolutely! Will I be reading more by this author? Most Definitely! Enjoy )
