It had been awhile since I had read about the McClain brothers; Jonathan Catlin is Allie's brother who was also kidnapped by Comanche's along with her when they were children then traded to Apaches. Karina O'Riley was running from McWimberly clan like her father told her to when he put her on the train in Pittsburgh. Jonathan Catlin was looking for a bookkeeper to get his inheritance showing a profit in one year or it reverts to Texas. Someone is rustling Jonathan's cattle as well as other things mysteriously happening. Kara thinks McWimberly's are after her but Jonathan is sure it is the ongoing feud with a neigboring rancher. Kara and Jonathan have issues stemming from the past so they keep each other at arms length but love will always find a way. The story briefly catches us up on how Adam & Nichole; Wolf & Molly; Wes & Alliie as well as Daniel. There are a couple of steaming love scenes when they both realize they have feelings for each other but the past gets in the way. However their story is heartwarming and sweet; you have to love the Old Guard (retired Texas Rangers) given a place by Jonathan & Allie's deceased grandmother. diamondgirl

I love all of Jodi Thomas stories. She never disappoints! She always manages to create adventure and romance that keeps you waiting to see what will happen next.
One of my favorite western authors. Always a good read.
If you read Jodi Thomas's books. Read the whole series they are wonderful.
I loved all the books in this series, but by far this is the funniest, and my favorite. This book has everything sadness, drama, sex, love and humor.
As it turns out I have read it twice and loved it each time. This is the 5th book of the series and I would recommend you read each one starting at the first.

I love this series and the McLain Family. My favorite is "To Wed in Texas". This one is my second favorite. Johathan showed up in "To Wed in Texas" as a young recaptured boy who thinks he's an Indian. Now he is a grown man who inherits a ranch he doesn't want. His name is different from the other book but the other characters are the same. I love Kara is clueless about accounting but she keeps trying. She is so real and gets into Jonathan's heart without even trying. She helps him see what's important in life and that he is exactly where he should be.
